The shop has worked on both of my kids cars and done an amazing job. They took the time to explain what needed to fixed and repaired it quickly. They also beat a quote from another place in town by a substantial amount. Efficient, honest and hands down the only place I’ll take my cars.
The Shop does great work, but most importantly YOU CAN TRUST THEM! If they tell you something needs to be fixed, it does. They will also tell you if it can wait or it is optional. They stand by their work!!! Honesty and integrity is something that is hard to find in mechanics now-a-days, at The Shop, it is the very foundation they are built on and live by! They've worked on all of our vehicles... Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Liberty, Dodge Diesel 1-ton dually and RAM Promaster Van... all older high milage vehicles.
My family and I have been using The Shop in Alvin for just over 20 years now. Now that my kids are driving we bring their vehicles to The Shop as well. They always take care of our family including my parents who are in their 70s. They just fixed my daughter’s car and got us in and out quickly because she had to drive 4 hours to college. They built most of my dad’s 1972 Chevelle that he just sold after 20 years of ownership. When they heard it was time to sell it The Shop had us bring it by to check it out for the new owner. You’re not going to find a better or more honest mechanic shop. They also have The Body Shop at the same location and they do fantastic work. We highly recommend you trusting The Shop with all your automotive needs.

Always professional and honest work. The have consistently proven their ability to assess and accurately correct any mechanicl issues found. They have never disappointed! Anthony the manager has never done anything unauthorized or pre approved. We get a solid quote on pricing and they don't throw any extra charges in as some businesses tend to do. We will continue to bring all our automotive work to them.

Took my car to Genesis Auto here in Alvin They worked on my car and left some of my hazard lights on. They told me that I would have to go to a dealership to get that fixed.Because that was not their fault. A few months later my car started having problems again After I paid Genesis for their work. I took my car to" The Shop" And they fixed everything the Genesis could not. This is my favorite shop from now on, they do not play, they are really professional.I appreciate the business from this shop.. Thank you so much...
In a time when most people go online to voice complaints, I want to take a moment to share some well-deserved praise. My recent experience with The Shop was exceptional—especially considering the less-than-ideal situation of having my work truck out of commission. A big thank you to Kris, the owner, for his helpfulness, expertise, and professionalism. The repairs were completed quickly, the pricing was fair and reasonable, and the service exceeded expectations. We’ll definitely be trusting The Shop for all our future vehicle repair needs. Well I have a great review to share. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2021. My family decided to move after 40 years in TX to Virginia to help support the family. My dad gifted a 2005 Ford Escape to use daily while we were there. Everyday driving in small town VA is much different than BIG city rough road Houston. He passed away a year later and we moved back and I drove that old car 1300 miles to prove all the naysayers wrong. Not only did it do fine, but I have been driving it for 18 months in Houston traffic. Well finally it starts to give me some understandable issues and they’re big ones. Word of mouth referral takes me to Anthony. He checks it out. Calls me. Gives me the expen$ive news. Ouch. I ask for his opinion - WHAT WOULD ANTHONY DO? I tend to think that ANY other mechanic might say GO FOR IT to get that job and money. Not Anthony. His honesty was so appreciated by me. But … I decided to GO FOR IT and he did an amazing job. Heather was fantastic! After meeting him when I picked up the car and sharing some dad stories I knew it was right. Even in hindsight… I am glad I did it. And I know NOT IF but WHEN I have car trouble again, THE SHOP is THE PLACE for me.
Great staff, great work and reasonable pricing! You may have to leave your vehicle for longer than you’d like but it’s because they’re excellent at what they do and are usually busy so call ahead!! They will always be my go to for my vehicle repairs.
10/10 would recommend Anthony and his team any day. From the office staff to Anthony explaining things in detail, and being truthful. It is the opposite of most interactions with a mechanic. I appreciate his patience with me and I will bring my cars to him and his team.
I had to take my car to the mechanic because my pully system was making some weird sounds, I took my MINI to the dealership and another local mechanic in town and both places failed to find the problem. I took my MINI to Anthony there at The Shop and within a day he called me and informed me that not only was my tention pully out but also my water pully. I told Anthony and Heather that I approved the work and within 2 day I had my car back, not to mention it's hard getting your hands on MINI Cooper parts without waiting a few day. I love the honesty this shop had through out the whole process and I feel like I got value out of going to this mechanic. THANK YOU ANTHONY, HEATHER, & ANY OF THE MECHANICS THAT WORK THERE THAT HELPED! My MINI now purrs like a kitten and I am definitely going to be coming back next time!
There are many auto shops in Alvin, some horrible, some really good. I grew up working on cars rebuilding engine with high horsepower so I know a bit. Well Anthony figured out a problem not I nor my previous favorite shop could figure out. To be honest I never had anyone try to win my business like he did. After talking and testing his knowledge on a future 1000hp beast I want to build I decided no one else is better suited for the expensive job. I highly recommend this place. Also their only bad review doesn't seem fair either. This shop should be at a 5.0 but it looks like competitors don't want that. They are busy but good shops are always busy. Well worth the wait if you want it fixed correctly the first time and don't want to hear upgrades and add ons. They won't try to up the ticket on you unless it's needed to prevent further major problems. Lastly their prices are very fair! Go for it!
The folks over at The Shop are real people. They fix what needs to be fixed and will let you know if they find something along the way. Best part is, they don't shove the extras down your throat like most shops.
I used The Shop for the first time about 3 months ago. I was very happy with the service from start to finish. Anthony and Heather kept me informed throughout the process. I needed warranty work done and work that I knew was not covered by warranty. They dealt with the warranty company and the outcome was what I was quoted. They are a very busy shop but the wait was worth it. I will be taking my car back in a few weeks for more warranty work. Sorry it took me this long to write a review.
